Valletta Triton Fountain (03)

If you’re planning a summer holiday to the beautiful island of Malta, then this blog is for you.

Below, we will explore three different locations that cater to different preferences. Whether you’re seeking historical charm, vibrant nightlife, or breath-taking beaches, Malta has it all.

Valletta  – Experience History and Culture

Obviously, we will be a little biased here, as we are located just outside Valletta’s City Gate, however, we feel that Valletta is the number one place to stay during your stay in  Malta.

Why? As a UNESCO World Heritage Site and an architectural marvel, Valletta offers something unique in Malta. From bustling streets lined with numerous cafes’, restaurants and shops, to grand architecture and history, Valletta is an amazing place to explore.  While Valletta doesn’t have a beach, we have a spectacular infinity pool that overlooks the harbour with far reaching sea views which is why The Phoenicia Malta might just be the best place to stay during your holiday to Malta.

As an added bonus, the main bus terminus sits just outside the hotel, which makes getting around the island super easy.

St Julian’s – Embrace Vibrant Nightlife and Entertainment

If you’re a party animal, then St Julian’s might be the best option for you. As the party capital of Malta, St Julian’s offers visitors an array of nightclubs, bars, and restaurants to enjoy.  During the day, take a stroll along the picturesque Spinola Bay and Balluta Bay, or indulge in some retail therapy at the Bay Street Shopping Complex.

Golden Bay – Natural Beauty

For those seeking sun, sand, and relaxation, a stay near Golden Bay Beach might be the best option. This pristine stretch of golden sand, framed by dramatic cliffs and crystal-clear waters, is a haven for beach lovers. Unwind on the beach, take a refreshing dip in the Mediterranean Sea, or simply soak up the breathtaking views.

No matter what your preferences are, Malta offers a diverse range of experiences for every traveller. From the historical charm of Valletta to the vibrant nightlife of St Julian’s, each location has something unique to offer. Enhance your stay with The Phoenicia Malta‘s luxurious rooms and impeccable service, ensuring a memorable stay in Malta that you’ll cherish forever.

The Phoenicia Malta launches Phoenicia Spa & Wellness

The 1st of July 2023 marked another momentous occasion for The Phoenicia Malta as it expanded its brand with the launch of Phoenicia Spa & Wellness.

Having opened in late 2020 after years of planning, the spa was a welcomed addition to The Phoenicia Malta experience and enhanced the hotel’s position as a top luxury property. Designed by renowned local architects AP Valletta, Joe Smith’s photography of the spa was recently awarded Best Hospitality Interior with Architecture Masterpiece.

Designed to be a meditative and soothing space, the volume of the spa is created around 16th century fortifications which were uncovered during the initial stages of development, making it a truly unique space. Apart from the indoor pool, the spa offers facilities such as a salt room, sauna, steam room, multi-jet showers, as well as a fitness centre.

Originally forming part of an international franchise, the Phoenicia Spa & Wellness now offers a new range of pampering and rejuvenating treatments and products. It is well-known that The Phoenicia Malta strives to be at the forefront of local luxury experiences, which is why the spa has unveiled new offerings such as AROCELL™ – the first needle-free botulinum toxin system cosmetics, which combines skincare and biotechnology to halt the traces left by life on the skin. One may also enjoy distinct massages such as a Himalayan Salt Stone Massage, the only local spa to offer this.

Speaking of this brand growth, General Manager Robyn Pratt says, ‘One of our priorities as a team, together with our owner, is to keep finding new ways to enhance our product and experience for our guests. Expanding the Phoenicia Malta brand to our spa was a natural next step, and we are very pleased about the initial reaction to the look and feel, and the treatments being offered.’

Phoenicia Spa & Wellness is open daily between 7.00am to 8.00pm. Click here to learn more, or contact our Spa Team on [email protected] or +356 2291 1131.
