Personality & Role Profile

You are an energetic and charismatic person with a flair to deliver results.  You are accountable for the running of the hotel in the absence of the General Manager & Hotel Manager.  You will collaborate closely with all functional leaders to lead the operations, ensure the guest experience is of a high quality and aligned with the Vision and Values of the hotel and to deal with any situation that may arise in a calm professional manner.  

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Collects any handover from previous Duty Manager / Hotel Manager / General Manager, gathers the necessary information regarding arrivals, departures and SAGs in-house and acts as needed on the information.
  • Answers guests’ inquiries, attends to their needs, handles customer complaints and employee issues.
  • Follows up on any issues that were handed over from the previous shifts.
  • Is responsible for emergency and evacuation procedures when the Safety and Security Manager is not on duty.
  • Directs, oversees and manages operations, maintenance, cleanliness and efficiency of the hotel while on duty.
  • Completes a minimum of two Room Arrival or Stayover, two Turndown and one Food & Beverage audits per week as per LQA and Forbes standards.
  • Conducting regular tours of the hotel to remain highly visible and readily available for guests and employees at all times.
  • Pro-actively reports all complaints, safety defects, maintenance issues and cleanliness problems to HODs and Night Manager or to the following Duty Manager prior to leaving the shift, both verbally and in writing via email.
  • Support the Hotel Manager as required.

Personality & Role Profile

You are an energetic and passionate person eager to lead our Front Office Team. You will direct and coordinate all Front Office activities while acting as a liaison between the guest and management. You will also ensure an efficient, prompt, courteous and trouble free service to all hotel customers to maximise guest satisfaction and rooms revenue.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Operate all aspects of Front Office computer system, including software maintenance, report generation and analysis, and simple configuration changes.
  • Participates in the selection of front office personnel.
  • Trains, cross –trains, and retrains all front office personnel.
  • Evaluates the job performance of each front office employee.
  • Conducts regularly scheduled meetings of front office personnel.
  • Verifies that accurate room status information is maintained and properly communicated.
  • Review Front office log book and Guest feedback forms on a daily basis.
  • Resolves guest problems quickly, efficiently, and courteously.
  • Checks cashiers in and out and verifies banks and deposits at the end of each shift.
  • Schedules the Front Office Staff
  • Enforces all cash-handling and credit policies.
  • Maximize room revenue and occupancy by reviewing status daily. Analyse rate variance, monitor credit report and maintain close observation of daily house count. Monitor selling status of house daily.
  • Participate in the Manager on Duty program.
Desirable Experience, Qualifications, & Attributes
  • At least 5 years experience in a similar role in a 5 Star hotel
  • Proficiency in English (written & spoken) and preferably fluent in two other languages,
  • Customer service driven with outstanding communication and active listening skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and multitasking skills
  • Leadership skills along with the ability to motivate a team into high performance
  • Computer literate with good knowledge of OPERA.

Job Description

We are looking for an energetic, passionate individual to assist the Front Office Team on a full-time basis. Primarily responsible to greet and welcome all guest to the hotel and relieve guests of their luggage on arrival. Ensure that the highest standards of hospitality and welcome are demonstrated at all times, and that all guest requests are dealt with in a prompt and courteous manner. In addition to assisting guests with luggage, Porters are also responsible to collect and distribute post, parcels, and other deliveries. Also, the Porter must deal with general inquiries and ensure the lobby and forecourt areas are always clean and tidy.

Duties & Responsibilities 

  • To be present at the Concierge /Reception desk or in the lobby to be ready to assist guests, colleagues and visitors when requested.
  • Greet and welcome guests with the appropriate greeting of the day and direct them personally to the reception desk.
  • Assists guests with luggage to the front desk.
  • Ensure collection and delivery of guest luggage and equipment in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Deliver messages, packages and flowers to guests’ rooms and other offices.
  • Assist with answering the telephone and taking messages, transferring calls or dealing with inquiries.
  • To deliver overnight all guests newspapers, according to the prescribed procedure.
  • To carry out guest shoeshine.
  • To assist the night manager in performing any reasonable request.
  • To carry out room service orders overnight, according to the prescribed procedure.
  • To call taxis for guests and visitors, to open doors as appropriate and to give directions as required.
  • To valet park guest cars in the hotels allocated car parking spaces.
  • To direct traffic on the hotel forecourt and to ensure that the forecourt and entrance are not obstructed in any way and kept clean and tidy at all times, including the lobby area.
